Assumptions behind this estimate
Projections above $1 quadrillion are outside this tool’s supported range. Displayed projections are rounded to the nearest dollar; calculations retain full precision.
Understand the estimate
Each month, the model adds interest at APR divided by 12, then applies the payment. The last installment can be smaller than the regular payment. The payoff month count includes that final payment; it is not rounded down to the number of full-size payments. A deadline-based payment is rounded upward to cents and checked with the same month-by-month model.
This is one fixed-APR debt, with no new spending, late fees, or promotional rates. Actual credit cards and loans may use daily accrual or different conventions. The first payment is assumed next month, so payoff dates are approximate.
If a payment does not reduce the balance, no payoff estimate is shown. Calculations stop at 1,200 months (100 years), and no full-payoff totals are shown if the balance remains.
